John Maynard Smith had a variety of different haircuts during his lifetime. He reached fame as an outstanding biologist, theoretical biologist, geneticist, zoologist, writer, economist, university teacher and mathematician. Nevertheless, the British theoretical evolutionary biologist and geneticist was mostly known for his unusual public appearances and his charming character.
